A wonderful day!
August
9th is the official Booklover’s day.
What a wonderful idea!
A day to celebrate people who read.
Does that mean we get to hang out in bookstores?
Do
we get to purchase a new book?

Most
of us already have a To-Be-Read (TBR) list that is towering over our living
room or Kindle’s anyway, but what is one more or a dozen books anyway?
Does this mean that we can take a day off work to celebrate our holiday?
Can
we have no chores at home?
Does
that mean the kids have to talk to their dad while I sit in my room and devour
another story?
I wish.
I’m sure all of us want this, but it is not reality. We might be able to add to our shelves, but we can’t take a whole day off from the world.
Too bad.
Here’s to you, Booklovers, raise your Kindles or your physical hardback or paperback book, and toast to all the wonderful things that can be read through the pages of a well-written story.
We will never apologize for dreaming of the next story that we can lose ourselves in.
Do you do anything special for Booklover’s Day? I don’t.
