Willa Shields is being taunted by someone desperate to get her attention.
When the threats escalate, the only person who can help her is her new
neighbor, FBI agent Parker Stone. But will he reach her before the darkness
overcomes them both?
My Thoughts:
Taken by Dark is a
short novella for the Targeted for Danger novella collection. The story focuses
on single mother Willa Summers who is trying to raise her handicap son, Trevor,
but then enters Declan Donovan, an FBI agent, who used to be her high school
sweetheart. The story is a novella, so it moves really quickly. From the first
chapter, Willa is running from someone who gets into her house and tries to run
her off the road. Even during all the high chase action, Christy Barritt has
woven in a little bit of romance for the fans of romance. Luckily, Willa and
Declan has a past, so there romance doesn't swerve much from reality. I enjoyed
returning to this story and familiar characters who have appeared in other Carolina
Moon novels by Barritt. I wish it was a normal novel length. Who knows maybe
Barritt will come back to this couple in a future book.
I received a complimentary copy of Taken by Dark from Christy Barritt, but the opinions stated are all
my own.
My Rating:
4 out of 5 stars
